Initial Notification: On March 16, 2019, USCG Sector North Carolina contacted the NOAA SSC about a cargo vessel that docked at the Port of Morehead City containing a cargo of ferrosilicon. USCG requested technical information about the chemical, associated human health and environmental risks and recommended safety measures. There has not been any chemical release.
