Tiger Pass Unknown Liquid Release

Initial Notification: On October 17, 2018, the USCG Sector New Orleans contacted the NOAA SSC regarding the discharge of an unknown substance from 2 barrels that were spotted on the lower Mississippi River. The USCG deployed a field team to oversee the recovery of the barrels and collect a sample of the material.
