Kent Bayou Discharge; LA, USA

Initial Notification: On February 15, 2018, the U.S.DOI contacted the NOAA SSC regarding an ~20bbl discharge from an overflowing storage tank into the adjacent bayou. LDWF reported six (6) alligators, a multitude of migratory birds, and one bald eagle nest in the vicinity of the discharge. USCG notified. Forefront Emergency Management was reported to be leading the response on behalf of the RP. Wildlife Response Services has been activated to address any oiled wildlife.
