Initial Notification: On January 15, 2018 , the USCG Sector New Orleans Contacted the NOAA RRO regarding a discharge of crude oil from a storage tank into the Pass A Loutre Wildlife Management Area (WMA). The leak was reportedly due to a a malfunction of a tank overfill alarm. Source reported secure and clean up and recovery in process.
