Initial Notification: On December 28th, 2017, the USCG Sector Buffalo contacted the NOAA Great Lakes SSC about the 623-foot motor vessel M/V PACIFIC HURON, that ran aground late Wednesday (12/26) in the Saint Lawrence Seaway near Wellesley Island, New York. There are no reported injuries to the crew, and no reported leaks, pollution, or flooding on the vessel. Products aboard are 91.9 tons of Heavy Fuel Oil, 54.7 tons of Diesel Fuel, and 19,680.2 Metric Tons of Soybeans. Sector Buffalo is requesting resources-at-risk and a trajectory in the event of a discharge.
