Initial Notification: On October 3, 2017, the USCG Sector New Orleans contacted the NOAA RRO regarding a dark black sheen 300ft by 300ft caused by the discharge of crude oil from pipeline damaged on the underside of a platform owned by XTO Energy . An estimated 800-1000ft of shoreline was affected. The line has been reported as shut in and the leak is secured.
