Initial Notification: On September 22, 2017, the USCG Sector New Orleans contacted NOAA regarding the discharge of crude oil into Romere Pass West Delta National Wildlife Refuge. The discharge was due to a pinhole leak in a 3" submerged pipeline, and impacted an ~50' x 150' tidal marsh and mud flats, with a 30'x40' area containing dark product.
