Initial Notification: At 2340 on August 9th, 2017, M/V Calumet a 629-foot cargo ship ran aground on the north side of Sugar Island in the St. Marys River. No reported damage, injuries, or pollution. USCG Sector Sault Ste. Marie contacted the NOAA SSC to request trajectory and resources at risk for the potential release of 105,000 gals of #2 Diesel fuel.
