Initial Notification: On May 8th, 2017, the USCG reported that US Steel in Ecorse, MI release 11,000 gals of a ferrous chloride solution from a storage tank. Secondary containment was reported to have contained much of the spill, but some material entered a manhole cover that leads to the Detroit river.
