Initial Notification: On May 13, 2016, the NOAA SSC was contacted by the USCG after a USCG Auxiliary flight reported a fuel oil slick off Pemaquid Point (near Boothbay Harbor) in Maine. The footprint was 50x150 yards, about 3 nautical miles off the coast. Spill source is unknown and the location does not match any legacy sunken vessels from the NOAA Resources and Undersea Threats (RUST) database.
