Initial Notification: On May 6, 2016, USCG Sector Hampton Roads notified the NOAA SSC about a 10,000 gallon potassium hydroxide spill that took place at a small industrial facility. Most of the product was captured within on-site containment system but unknown amount escaped into a storm drain and into nearby waterway.
