Initial Notification: On April 20, 2016, USCG Sector NOLA notified the NOAA SSC of a sinking barge containing crude oil at MM 92.6 on the Lower Mississippi River. Barge has a capacity of 25,000 bbls. SSC has provided trajectory based on river flow estimates, and fate analysis for several types of crude oils.
