Initial Notification: On August 31, 2015, the NOAA SSC was notified by USCG Sector Guam regarding an oil release into a storm drain from the Piti Power Plant in Piti, Guam, following a fire and explosion at a generator. The oil released is reported to be fuel #6. The amount of oil released is unknown at this time, but believed to be a relatively small volume. The storm drain empties into an outfall that ultimately flows into Apra Harbor.
