Initial Notification: On July 2, 2015, USCG Sector New Orleans notified NOAA about a barge collision on the Lower Mississippi River, near mile marker 150. One barge sank, reportedly carrying a load of caustic soda (NaOH). USCG requested potential fate of the material.
