Initial Notification: On September 10, 2013, the HI Department of Health contacted the NOAA SSC to request trajectory and fate support for a molasses spill in Honolulu Harbor, Hawaii. The Matson Shipping Company reported losing approximately 1400 tons, or an estimated 224,000 gallons, of molasses at about 1800 local time on Sunday, September 8.
