Dead Birds Washed up; Lake Michigan

Initial Notification: ERD was contacted by Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab (GLERL) to assist in a an analysis of the possible source of some dead birds that were washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan. The birds were found around non on Sept. 17th, and contained botulism. The request came from Lisa Fogarty, Water-Quality Specialist USGS, MI Water Science Center. We will work with GLERL to do a hindcast of the floating birds.
