Initial Notification: On Monday afternoon of November 16, 2009 (1611 hrs local time), the regional NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator was notified by Marine Safety Unit Port Arthur of a mystery slick observed roughly 10 nautical miles S of Cameron Parish Louisiana. The location was reported as West Cameron Block 73. The source of the release was unknown, but was reported as a silver sheen 300 yds wide by 6 miles long.
