Initial Notification: On Friday evening, 26 October 2007, USCG Sector New Orleans notified the regional NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator of a sunken fishing. The vessel, a 42 foot steel hull shrimper, sank in the Mississippi River Delta region at approximately 1735 hrs with an estimated 750 gallons of red dyed diesel. Diesel was reported to be escaping to the environment. The USCG requested that NOAA provide a trajectory analysis. This incident is immediately adjacent to the Delta National Wildlife Refuge.
