Mystery Spill in Lake Machias; LA

Initial Notification: The USCG notified the NOAA Scientific Support Coordinator of a mystery oil spill in Lake Machias, Louisiana on 24 Feb. 2007. At present, no RP has been identified. The USCG has conducted an overflight to document the reported mystery spill, which current cover an area estimated as 4 miles by 2 miles. Possible sources include a pump station located in Lake Machias.
