Initial Notification: The Coast Guard received a report that the 900 ft MV ANTIGUN PASS under tow to China broke loose from its tug at 0800 on November 20, 2001. The location of the vessel was 90 nm west of Cape Foulweather, OR (45°07.1'N, 126°19.4'W). The ship was reported to be 60 nm west of the entrance to the Columbia River (45°58.4'N, 126°46.6'W) at 1200, November 21. The ship is unmanned and adrift with the tug nearby. The ship is empty of cargo and was being transported to China for scrap metal, but has approximately 500 barrels of residual fuel oil on board. At this time the vessel is not leaking product. USCG district 13.
