Initial Notification: On January 28, 2001 at 0720 local time, approximately 20 barrels of Alaska North Slope Crude oil was lost near the single point mooring during a transfer operation. It is estimated that the fuel leaked for about 4 seconds before being shutoff. On-scene winds were reported at 12-15 knots from the East. On-scene seas were reported at 2-3 feet out of the East. Initial overflight information from Sunday afternoon indicated oil was moving westward and breaking into streamers. USCG district 14.
