VPSB #46 Spill; White Lake, LA
White Lake, LA | 2000-May-12
Initial Notification: On May 12, 2000, NOAA HAZMAT responded to a spill resulting from a pipeline rupture in a marsh on the eastern side of White Lake, Louisiana. The spilled product is a crude oil and it is estimated that 100bbls was released. The NOAA SSC is on-scene and working with other responders to evaluate applicable response options. In-situ burning was considered but concerns for fire containment may preclude its use. NOAA is also providing weather forecast support as needed. USCG district 8.
