Initial Notification: An offshore supply vessel was transferring a solution of zinc bromide to a rig located approximately 60 miles off the coast of Louisiana when a valve was left open and approximately 1012 barrels of the solution (density 15 pounds per gallon) were pumped into the Gulf of Mexico. USCG district 8.
