Initial Notification: The M/V Stone Fueler sank and subsequently broke up sometime after midnight 7 January 98. The 65 foot vessel sank in 25-30 feet of water in Belle Pass, 1/2 mile off the coast of Louisiana at position 29? 04.6" N, 090? 11.0" W. The vessel was carrying approximately 3,000 gallons of diesel fuel all of which is believed to have been lost. USCG district 8. Keyword: dispersants.
