Initial Notification: On November 17, 1993, a storm sewer outfall leading into the Lafayette River, Norfolk, Virginia was found to contain approximately 1,000 gallons of waste oil from an unknown source. The oil was traced back through the city's sewer system approximately eight blocks where the oil sheen stopped. USCG district 5. Keyword: sorbent boom, sorbent, pads.
