Initial Notification: At 1215 the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office, Alameda, was notified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Technical Assistance Team (TAT) that a tank truck carrying approximately 5,000 gallons of anthraquinone acid and vanadium compound had overturned in Stockton. An estimated 500 gallons spilled from the ruptured tank and an unknown amount of the chemical entered a storm drain which leads to Italian Slough, which empties into Discovery Bay. USCG district 12.
