Initial Notification: At approximately 1425 on November 14, 1985, the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Safety Office in Providence, Rhode Island, received a report from Air Station Cape Cod that a private aircraft had seen three separate sheens of oil in Buzzards Bay. These sheens were described to be approximately 300-yards long and 75-yards wide, and located in the southern portion of Buzzards Bay. USCG district 1.
