Initial Notification: On, or before 26 July 2005, the F/V Shirley Girl struck an object in Oyster Bayou (a small bayou that connects to the Gulf of Mexico in coastal Louisiana) causing it to sink and ground on an oyster reef. The USCG requested NOAA assistance to assess response trade-offs.
