Initial Notification: A collision occurred between the T/B Mr.Craig and the M/T Eagle Memphis in the Mississippi Riverr, near mm 93 (SE of NO). While overtaking the tug, the M/T was hit on her starboard quarter, resulting in a 13ft gash in her #2 starboard fuel tank. The vessel's Chief Engineer reported that 50 bbls of heavy fuel oil were spilled into the river before the oil was safely transferred. Sheen was observed from 29d 56.3'N 090d 0.05'W to 29d 55.3'N 089d 57.5'W. Approximately 10 bbls of the sheen ended up near shore, mm83, where there was 2000' of boom. An OSRO cleaned up the oil.
