Initial Notification: On April 14, 2026, the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) received a report of oil discovered near Red Pass, southwest of Venice, Louisiana. The reports indicated a continuous discharge of over 1 barrel of crude oil per day. The total current discharge was over 3 barrels. A responsible party has not been identified. The USCG has opened the Oil Spill Liability Trust Fund and will conduct a cleanup.
