Mystery Sheens: Ship Shoal 276; offshore Louisiana, Gulf of America

Initial Notification: NOAA National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) has been tracking several anomalies since 25 MAY 2025 originating from a single location in Ship Shoal 276. This location is just west of an old MonForte platform (Ship Shoal 277) that is currently being decommissioned by WhiteFleet. USCG and BSEE have received assessments from NESIDS and are tracking the potential spill.
