Initial Notification: On 01 October 2024, the USCG notified NOAA ERD about a US Navy MSC (Military Sealift Command) tanker that accidently discharged 2000 gallons of AFFF (fire suppressant foam) while transiting to Guam. USCG requested consultation about the composition and environmental regulations of this chemical.
