Initial Notification: On April 30, 2024, staff from NOAA Fisheries Protected Resources Division contacted the NOAA SSC requesting a future drift model for a dead humpback whale. The request was to identify a location where a dead whale, beached in Marblehead, MA, could be taken out to sea and left to drift.
