Initial Notification: On June 30, 2023, the USCG Sector Puget Sound notified the NOAA Northwest SSC that on 29 June the 108-foot vessel ‘YTB823’ broke free from its mooring and ran aground off Brownsville, WA. This is a prior USN vessel now privately owned. There is a max. potential of approx. 20k gallons of diesel and 80 gallons of motor oil, there are no signs that the tanks were damaged. There has been no sheen observed in the water.
