Sunken Derelict Vessel in Coal Creek Slough

Initial Notification: On the late evening of August 25, 2021 the NW SSC was notified of a partially sunken 42 foot derelict vessel in Coal Creek Slough. A rainbow sheen was seen around the vessel and responders have wrapped sorbent sweep around the vessel. USCG is working with DNR and Washington Ecology to refloat the vessel, remove all hazmat and oil, then sink the vessel where it is located during the morning of August 26. NOAA SSC provided the USCG with a verbal resources at risk.
