Wapiti Mud Lake Tank Spill; LA, USA

Initial Notification: On June 29, 2021, the USCG Sector New Orleans received a report of approximately 5bbls of crude oil being discharged from the Wapiti Operating Manila Village #1 Marine Transfer Facility into the waterway known as Spoon Bill Bay, which is in the area of Mud Lake. A tank overfilled and a rainwater drain plug failed on secondary containment, which allowed an estimated 5bbls of crude oil to be discharged into the waterway.
