Savoonga Mystery Substance; Savoonga, AK

Initial Notification: On June 19, 2020, the NOAA SSC was notified by the Alaska Sea Grant Marine Advisor in Nome that the Village of Savoonga reported a mystery substance on the beach and a number of dead seabirds. The birds appeared to be coated with the substance. The USCG is requesting NOAA's assistance in identifying the substance.
