Saginaw River Flooding; Midland, MI

Initial Notification: Significant rainfall starting Sunday, May 17, 2020, caused major flooding in the mid-Michigan area in the Saginaw River and ultimately resulted in the failures of the Edenville Dam and the Sanford Dam in Midland County. On May 20, 2020, the UISCG Sector Detroit contacted the NOAA SSC. NOAA is providing USCG with information management support and Common Operational Picture (COP) via ERMA, including relaying NWS products. An Incident layer is being developed and communications continue between ORR Spatial Data Branch and the Sector.
