Truck Accident: I95; New London, CT (I95 Bridge)

Initial Notification: On April 4, 2016, a tracker-trailer jack-knifed on the I-95 bridge over the Thames River, Connecticut. The accident resulted in the breaching of the fuel saddle tanks and the release of approximately 250 gallons of diesel fuel into the River. Sector Long Island Sound contact the NOAA SSC for oil behavior and sensitive resources information. A sheen was seen on both sides of the bridge.
