Initial Notification: On August 22, 2015, MSU Mogan City contacted NOAA SSC requesting evaluation of and trajectory for a mystery sheen reported by platform operators in Eugene Island Block 142. Upon review of photos, oceanographer and SSC determined substance was likely not oil. As a precaution, a trajectory analysis was requested.
