Initial Notification: On July 11, 2015, NOAA NESDIS submitted a "Marine Pollution Surveillance Report" to the National Response Center regarding a potential oil "anomoly" off shore of southern Long Island. The USCG D1 Command Center contacted the NOAA SSC for more information and to produce a trajectory so that air assets could better target the anomaly for investigation.
