Initial Notification: On March 30th 2015, the USCG notified the NOAA SSC of a distress call from the Canadian flagged "Liana Ransom," a 65 foot sailing ship (so-called "Tall Ship"). The ship reported her engines were out and the sails were fouled around the mast. The USCG rescued all 9 crew by boat and helicopter. The vessel is carrying approximated 400 gallons of diesel and 20 gallons of gasoline. She remains adrift east of the eastern boundary of the Stellwagan Bank National Marine Sanctuary. She is drifting east on predominantly westerly winds. She is not taking on water.
