Initial Notification: On February 2, 2015, the USCG Port Arthur notified the NOAA SSC of an intermittent appearance of a sheen in the vicinity of an abandoned pipeline in the High Island block, near Sabine Pass, Texas. USCG requested a review of available data to determine if there have been recurring reports of sheen in the vicinity that may be attributed to an unknown source.
