Initial Notification: On January 28, 2015, USCG Sector San Diego contacted their NOAA SSC to report an unidentified vapor cloud 14 miles offshore of Oceanside, CA. USCG aircrew noticed a pungent or chemical-like odor in the area. USCG requested NOAA assistance in determining what the substance might be and its potential trajectory.
