Initial Notification: On February 20 2014, the USCG Sector New Orleans notified NOAA SSC about a Mystery Sheen in Black Bay, in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. The sheen is 3.5 miles by 300 yrds with 70 % cover of mostly rainbow sheen. Upon further investigation, a suspected source was identified, but no Responsible Party is taking ownership of the sheen. USCG has requested a hindcast (reverse trajectory) to help determine the source.
