Initial Notification: Hurricane Ike made landfall during the early morning hours of Sept. 13, 2008, in the Galveston/Houston area of Texas as a Category Two/Three Hurricane (~110mph winds). Storm surge was 20-25ft in some areas. There is severe wind, storm surge and flooding damage in large regions of Texas. USCG, FEMA, EPA, and National Guard personnel are responding.
